Anang Desai is an Indian film and television actor. He was born on May 4, 1953 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He is a graduate of the National School of Drama, New Delhi. He has appeared in over 80 television shows and films. He is best known for his portrayal of the character Babuji in the television series Khichdi and its eponymous film.
Desai started his career in theatre in the early 1980s. He appeared in several plays, including Mukhya Mantri, Begum ka Takiya, Tughlaq, Kotwal, and Virasat. He made his film debut in 1982 with the film Gandhi, in which he played the role of Indian politician J. B. Kripalani. He has since appeared in films such as Byomkesh Bakshi (1993), Rustom (2016), and Padmaavat (2018).
Desai’s television career began in the early 1990s. He has appeared in several television shows, including Kabhi to Milenge, Samay, Pratishodh, Aandhi Jazbaaton Ki, Vishwaas, Alag Alag, Saturday Suspense, Chingaari, Aap Beeti, Gharana, and Khichdi.
