Prasoon Joshi
Prasoon Joshi is an accomplished Indian poet, writer, lyricist, screenwriter, communication specialist, and marketer. Born on September 16, 1971, he is known for his versatile contributions in various fields.
Currently, Prasoon Joshi serves as the CEO of McCann Worldgroup India and Chairman APAC (Asia Pacific), a subsidiary of the global marketing firm McCann Erickson. He is recognized for his expertise in the field of advertising and marketing, and his leadership role in the company.
Prasoon Joshi was appointed as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification on August 11, 2017. In this role, he has played a significant part in guiding and overseeing the certification process for films in India.
As a lyricist, Prasoon Joshi has been recognized and honored with several prestigious awards. He has won the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award three times, in 2007 and 2008 for his work in Hindi movies, and again in 2014 for the film “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.” He has also received the National Film Award for Best Lyrics twice, for his contributions to the films “Taare Zameen Par” (2007) and “Chittagong” (2013).
In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the fields of arts, literature, and advertising, Prasoon Joshi was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2015. This prestigious honor reflects his significant impact and influence in his respective fields.
