Sajid Nadiadwala

Sajid Nadiadwala, born on February 18, 1966, is an Indian film producer, writer, and director known for his work in Hindi cinema. He is the owner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, a production company that has been associated with several successful films.

 

Sajid Nadiadwala comes from a family with a rich film background. His grandfather, Abdul Karim Nadiadwala, was a well-known filmmaker who produced numerous films in Bombay, including the iconic film “Taj Mahal.” Sajid’s father was also involved in film production. Growing up in Malad, where the family owned theaters and had significant property, Sajid developed a deep passion for films from a young age.

 

After completing his Chartered Accountancy (CA) and law studies, Sajid joined filmmaker J.P. Dutta as an assistant director at the age of 21. He worked on the film “Ghulami” and gained valuable experience in the industry. Inspired by his family’s legacy and his own creative aspirations, Sajid ventured into film production, writing, and directing.

 

As a producer, Sajid Nadiadwala has been associated with successful films like “Housefull” (2010) and “Baaghi” (2016). He has also ventured into directing and made his directorial debut with the film “Kick” (2014), which received accolades and awards for his debut as a director. Additionally, he has written films, including the Marathi film “Lai Bhaari,” which was produced by Riteish Deshmukh.
