Sharmishta Roy comes from a family with a strong background in film production design. Her father, Sudhendu Roy, was a renowned production designer who worked on notable films like Bimal Roy’s “Sujata” (1959), “Madhumati” (1959), and “Bandini” (1963), as well as Yash Chopra’s “Silsila” (1981) and “Chandni” (1989). Being exposed to her father’s work, Sharmishta gained valuable insights and experience while assisting him before embarking on her own journey as an independent art director.
